Congratulations to MHS Track and Field Athletes
Seniors Mont Child, Rachel Bring, and Desirae DesRosiers all came away from the 4A State Track and Field Meet this weekend with the title of State Champion.  Mont is the 4A State Champion in the Shot Put with a put of 55ft, 1inch.  Desirae is the 4A State Champion in the 300M Hurdles with a time of 45.70 seconds, and Rachel Bring is the 4A State Champion in the Discus with a throw of 148ft, 9 inches.  The girls track team places 2nd.   We also had several athletes place in the top eight to receive honors and score points at the meet: Anna Farner, 6th -200M Run; Deserae DesRosiers, 3rd -100M Hurdles and 3rd -Long Jump; Rachel Bring, 3rd –Shot Put; Matthew Borowczak, 8th -1500M Run; Michael House, Tanner Nauta, Treyton Bierly, and Gavin Thrower, 3rd-4X100M Relay; Hannah Henderson, Emma Andrew, Desirae DesRosiers and Anna Farner, 4th – 4X100M Relay; Berkely Olsen, 7th -Discus and Mont Child, 2nd-Discus.  Both the girls and boys track teams are coached by Sheron Farner.  Congratulations athletes and coach.

MHS Jazz Band 
The MHS Jazz Band, directed by Mr. Matt Farris placed 2nd in the State Jazz Band Festival at MHCC this past weekend.  Congratulations MHS Jazz Band!!


OHSET Team Members Headed to Regional Competition
OHSET State Competition was May 11-14.  Four Molalla athletes qualified for the regional competition and will be headed to Redmond Oregon on June 2 to compete. Birangle- Codi Edwards and Shawnee Gibbons.Team Canadian Flags- Codi Edwards, Shawnee Gibbons, Shelby DeFabio, and Garrett Veltman and Team Penning -Garrett Veltman and Shelby DeFabio.

2017-18 Molalla High School Principal Announced
Brad Berzinski has been named as the next principal for Molalla High School. The position was posted open when the current principal, Randy Dalton, was selected to serve as principal at Molalla River Middle School.  Read more...

Power Hour (an opportunity for students who need help with algebra or geometry)

 

Power Hour is now offered every Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. in the library.  Any student who is taking Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2 may attend for tutoring.  Students are responsible for their own transportation home after Power Hour.

At the March 9, 2017 regular business meeting, the MRSD Board of Directors approved the 2017-2018 school calendar. You can find the calendar HERE.

Get Notification of School Closures e--mailed to you with FlashAlert

Go to www.flashalert.net  and in the left frame, select "Subscribe to receive news from participating organizations." Enter your primary email address twice and click on create your account. On the next screen, under "Add an Organization," choose the Region Name (Portland/Vanc/Salem region), then Category Name (Clackamas Co. Schools),then Organization Name (Molalla River).   Click on "Subscribe."     Below that, you can enter up to four more e-mail addresses/phone numbers for text messages. When you are done, click "Update Email Addresses and Send Test Messages." A verification message will be sent to each of your listed addresses. This is a wonderful program that alleviates some of the confusion of an early school closure. You must re-verify EVERY YEAR
