School Calendar Adjustment - Addition of Instructional Time
The following adjustments were made to the calendar:
First, the high school will be adding January 27 as an instructional day. Currently the school calendar calls for parent/teacher conferences the evening of Thursday, January 26th and morning of Friday, January 27th, with the 27th showing as a non-school day. As much as we value this time with parents, we believe it would be wise to recover this day for student instruction. In addition, discussion points on your child’s progress would be minimal due to the lack of time in their classes. Second, the second trimester end date has been adjusted. Second, students will have school on March 15, 16, and 17 and will now be taking their finals on March 22nd and March 23rd (both days are half days). March 24th will be a grading day (no school for students). April 3, the Monday after Spring Break will be a teacher work day (no school for students). The third trimester will begin on Tuesday, April 4th. The school board will be asked to review and take action on additional K-12 calendar changes in February or March, depending on the nature of further weather incidents. I will keep you updated of any additional changes to the school calendar.
